IKEA / Space10

Design sprint on circular economy interventions in Barcelona

I was approached by IKEA and Space10 to participate in a workshop including designers, artists and makers from all over the world to conceptualize and prototype ideas pushing Barcelona towards a sustainable future.

Inspired by waste collectors on Barcelona’s streets

After a wonderful series of discussions our group prototyped the Scrap Lab. A new business model under which “street scrappers” would collect a wider range of materials (than just metals and paper) and bring them to fablabs. The Labs then buy these materials and furniture from the scrappers and re purpose, repair and sell them.
